Lagos went agog today as the Super Eagles Supporters Club storm the Campus Mini Stadium, Lagos to support Fc Barcelona Forward Asisat Oshoala on her pet project Asisat Oshoala Foundation.
Flanked by other top executives of the club from across Nigeria, National President, Prince Okumagba represented by his personal assistant Mr Alao Emiloju said they are in Lagos to celebrate with the 2018 African Women Cup of Nations winner on her foundation to help young ladies in football.
Speaking during the event, Mr President said the project will go a long way in assisting the Super Falcons and other National teams as players will be discovered, hope will once again return to that little girl on the streets of Lagos.
“This is a very good project by Nigeria’s queen of football, as you can see young girls look forward to the event, players are being discovered yearly and with this the National teams can be rest assured of greater things to come for Nigeria Women football, Chidinma Okeke is one of the success story, a player who provided an assist for the Oshoala to score against South Korea at the FIFA Women World Cup in France, you see there is indeed hope”.
The Supporters Club aslo had one of its Patron who doubled as the mother of the day General Overseer Love of Christ, Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi present as she also is a lover of women football and has supported the club immensely to attend major FIFA Women tournaments.
Meanwhile, the event had present the President of the Nigeria Football Federation who was the special guest of honour Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick, the First Vice President of Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi amongst others with varieties of matches that saw the Asisat Oshoala Foundation beat FC Robo 3-1 after extra time.
Celebrities had their turn to take to the field as Team Naija Celebrities played against Team Naija Footballers.
It will be recalled that the Super Eagles Supporters Club showed massive support to Ex International Odion Jude Ighalo on his Ighalo Orphanage Home 2nd year anniversary and will continue to show more support for the development of the game.
