Nigeria U23 national team head coach says his team his aiming to go far in the ongoing U23 AFCON tournament which kicked off yesterday in Egypt, Sportaccess.com.ng authoritatively reports.
Nigeria is in group B alongside South Africa, Zambia and Ivory Coast a group Imama Amapakabo admitted is tough and feels the team needs to take each game seriously.
“The first game is important in a tournament and we looking forward to it. We have to work hard to get out of this group. Every team in our group is a big team, We have to take every game with a serious approach. We aim to go far in this tournament, ” he said.
Nigeria starts it’s campaign this evening against Cote d’ivoire and Imama Amapakabo believes the best team wi carry the day as all the teams at the tournament worked hard to get there.
“All the team’s here worked hard to get here and we have the best teams in Africa at this tournament so the best team will carry the day (today),” Imama Amapakabo told Sportaccess.com.ng.
The Olympic Eagles open their Group B action this evening with a clash against Cote d’ivoire at the Al-Salaam Stadium in Cairo at 17:00 hours.
Zambia and South Africa will be in action in the other Group B match in a 20:00 hours kick-off at the same venue.
